Wayne’s Drum
Corps history started during the mid 1980’s with 234th Northwinds
Scout and Guide Band playing trumpet. He marched until 1989 with
both Northwinds and Pride of Bristol and moved on to Mellophone.
Wayne marched with Pride during their tour to the USA in 1994
marching in A60 class (Div III). In 1996 Wayne joined the 37th
Kingswood Drum and Bugle Corps where he continued to play Mellophone
until 1999 where he moved onto Baritone. In 2001 he took the role
of Drum Major for his age out year. Since ageing out Wayne has
taught as a member of the Brass staff and eventually took over
the role as Brass Caption Head in 2003 and 2004. In 2005 he moved
into the role as the Show Co-ordinator for the Corps. Wayne has
also played with Pegasus Brass and has also played a key role
within the brass line of Pride of Bristol. Wayne is a professional
business manager who currently works within the Department of
Work and Pensions where he is a specialist advisor dealing with
complicated claims for unemployed customers. Wayne is a major
asset to the Corps who has an integral role of organising the
music and show design. His main role is communicating with the
Corps consultants and pulling the show together for the competition
season.
